We are Ken and Carmen Miller. We found each other after we both moved to East Tennessee and we have been married for 19 years.

After years with the same company, my husband retired, was looking to change his life focus, and decided a barber’s life would suit him. He enrolled in the local barber academy and pursued his education and new craft with his usual energy and drive. During this time, he noticed that the shears he was using had areas that he felt could be much improved.

He received his Master Barber license and shortly thereafter was recruited to teach with the barber academy. He began contemplating the cost and quality of the shears available to those in the barber/cosmetology industry and again felt there were potential improvements that he could make. About that time, a shear company was giving a presentation of the products they had available. They had a well-known barber providing a demonstration and attractive ladies presenting the products. The cost of this brand was quite pricey especially for an audience of students, some with little income.

In today’s world barbers and stylists are creating artful designs using a human medium, therefore, they need tools and shears that will perform to their expectations. He evaluated shears commonly found in the hands of stylists to see what he did and did not like, then worked with the manufacturer on the improvements that made sense to him.

Our passion was to provide quality shears to working professionals at pricing that was much more reasonable. Ken started using and promoting his shears in his professional practice. Through networking and community, seasoned stylists and artists using our products have expressed their appreciation for the quality and comfort of our shears.
